...they will rejoice in the bounty of the Lord...
October finds us harvesting the last of our gardens, or pots on our patios. We are enjoying the harvest of others at local Farmer’s Markets. God is good, and he blesses the land with bounty. He does it for our benefit!
Jeremiah was comforting Jerusalem with a vision
of what the Lord would do for them. They were experiencing a bounty of misery. God sent Jeremiah to encourage them with the greater truth of his providence. God would deliver them and do it with an extravagant bounty.
An old hymn invites us to “count your many blessings, name them one by one.” Do that today. Remind yourself that God is good, and he is good to you today.
Thank you, Lord God, for supplying my every need. Amen.
Reflect: Eat an apple today and praise the Lord for his bounty!
