Turning Misery Into Ministry

You will forget your misery; you will remember it as waters that have passed away.

Job 11:16

It has been quite a year filled with all sorts of stress, sadness, and anxiety. Misery seems to abound on so many fronts. There has been distress and unrest through both natural and man-made situations: world- wide pandemics, weather related disasters, terrorism, fighting between nations and peoples. Misery is seemingly forever present.
But the Lord is still in charge. He still has “the whole world in his hands.” And he is calling us to serve and love and minister to each other and all who are in need of his grace. As we emerge from the misery, we must focus on his mission: to be in ministry to everyone he sets before us.

Lord, this has been a very trying time, but you supply all of our needs; make me your instrument in turning “mess” into “message.”

Be encouraged: the one to whom you are going to minister is right around the corner.
