But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
One present day phenomenon appears in the popularity of finding one’s “roots,” those who connect with you, even across many generations. This search for “Who am I?” may be interesting or even helpful, yet one question remains: Who does God say that I am?
God’s Word reveals who we are. See what love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so, we are (1 John 3:1). Dare we doubt? The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16).
