…do not lean on your own understanding.
For years, three elderly men would meet every morning to have a cup of coffee and spend time trying to solve the world’s problems. When asked if they had any solutions yet, their response was, “No, but we’re working on it.” Before heading home, they would roll a cup of dice to solve one problem—who would pay the bill.
As aging seniors, we face many new problems.
Trying to solve problems totally by ourselves is like taking a chance rolling the dice cup.
Proverbs 3:5 reinforces this when it says, “…do not lean on your own understanding.” It is reminding us—we need help! In Philippians 4:6 Paul tells how to get that help, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
No dice needed. Problems solved by God’s assurance!
Lord, we thank you for listening, guiding, and helping us. Amen.
