If I take the wings of the morning ... even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
I remember a family trip to Starved Rock State Park in Ottawa, Illinois. At the top of this legendary
mountain, my uncle invited me to take his hand so that I could look over the edge of the cliff.
I have always had a fear of heights, and even now I wonder why I gave in to his invitation to lean out to look at the rocks and water below. I shudder now to think of what might have happened had he lost his grip and let me go.
I know that often we’re tempted to put our trust in people and things that eventually let us down. There’s one that can be counted on to hold on to us no matter what. That one is Jesus Christ.
Because of Jesus my prayer each day is “Lord, never let me go!”
St. Charles, MO
Lord Jesus, never let me go. Amen.
Challenge: Reach out to those you know that have let go of God’s hand.
Read: Psalm 119:113-117 and James 1:5-8
