Christ-missed, Christ-mess, or Christmas?
Let us go over to Bethlehem to see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.
Have you ever thought what you would have done if you were one of the shepherds in the field on that
Christmas night? Just like some folks today who “miss” the Christmas celebration because of other priorities in life, we may say, “Hey, we are busy people!”
We get “caught up” in all the “extras” we are asked to do—decorate a tree, hang lights, buy gifts, make gobs of food, invite people over, attend special worship services, and on and on.
Those shepherds went to Bethlehem, as they listened to the angels. They worshipped the real CHRISTmas GIFT, Jesus! And then, they returned home, “glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen.”
Lord, thanks for allowing us to celebrate your birth, life, death, and resurrection every day. Amen.
