O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.
How do you feel when the lights go out and you have to find your way to a flashlight or a candle? The older we get the scarier it gets, knowing there is a good chance we may stumble in the darkness along the way. That’s how it is with our sin, dark and scary. If we say we are children of God, but live in the darkness of sin, we are lying to ourselves and to God. Our gracious God gives us a way out through confessing those sins, receiving his forgiveness through the death of Jesus on the cross, and then walking in newness of life.
Lord, let not our eyes be blinded by our sin, but let us focus on you, the light of the world. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Amen.
