When the Sun Doesn't Shine

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of
the Lord has risen upon you.

Isaiah 60:1

No doubt you have experienced a time when the sun didn’t shine for several days or even weeks. It causes us to be dreary and negative and complaining that we haven’t seen the sunshine. But if we have sunshine every day that would lead to drought with no rain for the land and crops. So that means we must accept the fact that there will be days of sunshine and other days without sunshine. We just realize that the sun shines all the time with or without clouds. Now God has provided a different kind of “sonshine.” God sends Jesus to be our “Sonshine” every day of our lives. He is the light, and his light shines every day. He will never leave us, forsake us, or fail to be the “sonshine” of our lives. That means we can have “sonshine” even though we have no sunshine.

Heavenly Father, let your Son shine on us today that we may reflect your light to the world. Amen.

Reflect: Is the sun shining in your life today? Is the son shining in your life today?
