But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Christmas Eve candlelight, the Magi guided by a star to Bethlehem, the heavens opened at Jesus’ baptism – all point to Jesus as the light of the world in this church season. But how do we walk in his light during the new year? John in his first letter suggests fellowship with one another around the blood of Jesus cleansing us from our sin.
In our church, regular in-depth Bible study has helped form a community intent on learning more about God’s love in Christ, sharing problems and joys, caring for each other, praying for many, and reaching out to others in word and action. Aware of the darkness in us and around us, we desire to “walk in the light as he is in the light” based on Jesus’ cleansing blood.

Jesus, Light of the world, bring us to a Bible fellowship as we walk in your light. Amen.
