A Matriarch's Faith

Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

My wife’s grandma was tough, arriving in this country at age 5, leaving school after third grade to work on the farm. A wife at 18, a mother at 20, then a widow when the baby was only 7 months old, forcing her and the baby to move back in with her parents. Grandma remained a devout follower of Christ, a tireless volunteer at her church, and a caregiver who loved and served her family. She baked homemade bread, pies, cookies, and cinnamon rolls like no one else. She remarried and had a son who became my father-in-law. We thank God for granting Grandma the strength to remain faithful through her trials.
