Pronouns

The current woke culture has made a big deal about using preferred pronouns. In a world of many truths, we are blessed to know the real Truth, Christ Jesus, and to talk with him in prayer. By emphasizing pronouns in our prayers, we hear the words differently. It is a refreshing way to pray. Using this technique adds new meaning to very familiar words. Try it. Read or recite the Lord’s Prayer, even if praying silently, with extra emphasis on each pronoun.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us, not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
