Guard Your Mind

When my husband asked me if I’d listened to a particular podcast, I told him no. Although the program contained accurate news and cultural information, the steady diet of troublesome news was causing me to feel depressed and hopeless. I want to stay informed about current events, but I also want to choose my news sources wisely and listen to just enough to know how to pray for our world without drowning in the details. I want to fill my mind with thoughts and information that is not only true, but noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy. Bible reading and sermons, teaching programs, and praise music fit the guidelines Paul shared in Philippians 4:8.
