Hugs of Comfort

Let your steadfast love comfort me ...

Psalm 119:76

There are many ways to comfort others. A kind word of prayer. A meaningful greeting card. A gentle hug. These all show God’s love to those who need encouragement during dark times in their lives.

One of my new hobbies is to crochet prayer shawls. Our church is part of a ministry that shares these colorful shawls with cancer patients. The shawls are given with devotional booklets and serve as tangible reminders of God’s constant love and care through difficult times. They are ongoing hugs of comfort.

Our Lord has promised to always be near us. He daily provides us with strength and comfort through any trial we face. He enfolds us in his loving arms.
