Unfading Hope

ENGLAND — April 28, 1789 — 236 years ago today. Captain William Bligh was set adrift on the open sea by mutineers to begin a 47-day, 3,600-mile trip to safety. Bligh and his few followers could have given up hope every day. They had limited daily rations, were wet, and exposed most of the time. But Bligh told stories and got his crew singing and praying.

Growing older may seem like being set adrift on the open sea, wet, lonely, and exposed much of the time. Some days life may seem hopeless. But God gives us an unfading hope in Jesus our Savior who gave His life into death for us. God will bring us through the stormy seas of life and land us safely on the beautiful shores of heaven.
