Victory is God's
“Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
Exodus 15:21
I’ve lived near deserts and seas, but never had to walk through them for years, or cross over to escape an army intent on killing me. Yet trials may still come in fits and starts, by circumstance or sins, that threaten to steal my strength of body, soul, and trust in God. God knows that we are by nature fickle, selfish, arrogant, ungrateful sinners. Yet, God is also loving, gracious, and merciful beyond human comprehension, forgiving all our sins. When Miriam danced with singing and tambourines after escaping Pharaoh, she understood this, too; the Lord’s deliverance from certain death to everlasting life makes salvation sweet like honey! Triumph belongs to the Lord, so when trials attack, we can put all our trust in him.
