God Works for Our Good

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.

Romans 8:28 (NIV)

God doesn’t promise to shield us from all trials. In this sinful, broken world, some things that happen

to us are simply terrible or tragic. What God does promise is that when we continue to love him and trust in him, he will eventually bring some good out of our tribulation. We may never fully realize what that good is. But looking back years later, we may see how God led us to be a source of help and hope for someone who experienced a trial or tragedy similar to ours.

Above all, we know that nothing in this life, and not even death, can ever separate us from the love of God that is ours by faith in Christ (Romans 8:38-39).
