Open Your Gift to Share

When my grandson handed me a present, I knew it was a box of chocolate covered cherries. The next thing I did was predictable too. I opened the box and shared the chocolates with him.
The Holy Spirit gives each of us at least one spiritual gift such as teaching, helping, and hospitality. Gifts are not given so we look good, but to serve others and glorify God (1 Peter 4:10-11).
Maybe you can’t use your gifts in ways you used to, like sitting on the floor teaching children, but perhaps you can sit with a younger woman and study the Bible together. You may not be able to cook meals for large gatherings, but can you make a meal for someone who is homebound?
Gifts are meant to be opened and shared. They don’t expire with age.
