An Anchor for the Soul

A ship’s captain relies on the anchor to steady his ship during a storm. Since Christ is our anchor, he provides safety from the storms that we often face in life. As a ship’s captain relies on the anchor to steady the ship, we rely on Jesus to be our sure foundation. As we are tossed by the storms in life, Jesus offers us hope that he will take care of our concerns. Christians have the guarantee of heaven because of Jesus. Our hope in Christ is an anchor for the soul that does not waver under stressful times. The anchor prevents the believer from losing stability in Christian living. As seniors, we need to anchor our lives securely to God’s Word. God’s Word provides steadfast hope, offers spiritual encouragement, and spiritually feeds our soul.
